One More Day

I swear to God that today should be Friday! I can't believe I have one more day to get through before the weekend. *Sigh!*

The neighbours in back of us seem to be gone. I'm only guessing, but their dog - the mean black one, not the nice yellow Labby - was barking and growling at something off and on all freakin' night, and since no one over there bothered to try to shut him up, I'm thinking they must not be home. It was very unpleasant! Just when I'd start drifting off, he'd start in: Grr! Bark! Bark! Bark! Grr! Snarl! Grr! It was probably a possum, or one of the feral kittens who escaped from our garage and are still roaming the neighbourhood, that he was barking at. Or he was bored, or he wanted in the house, or he just felt like being a big, obnoxious dog! I don't know, and frankly, don't care. It was annoying regardless.

The rest of the day went by - slowly, but eventually it did end. Now, I have a plan for sleep: I'll take an Excedrin PM in about an hour, which will hopefully render me unconscious by 9:30 or 10, then, barring any more barking incidents from the Beast Behind the Back Fence, I'll get a good 8 - 9 hours of sleep before the alarm goes off.

Sleep! Ahh! Bliss!

for what it's worth,
Hez

Reading: You've Got to Read This ed. by Ron Hansen. For next week we're reading: "Guy de Maupassant" by Isaac Babel, "Wants" by Grace Paley, and "Helping" by Robert Stone, as well as the three short stories submitted by classmates.

Classic Book: Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens.

Previously: Animal Farm by George Orwell.

Listening to: Big Daddy Weave Fields of Grace.

Writing: I wish I knew.

Gratitude: Extra Stregnth Excedrin. I'm keeping this one for today as well, because, as I mentioned above, the mean dog behind us barked and growled and was generally a bloody nuisence all night, and I was very, very tired today, and had a very, very nasty headache. Again. Grr! Then some roofing guys came and did some work on our roof, right by the skylights above my workspace, and they were NOISY, and LOUD, and it was OBNOXIOUS, and didn't help my headache AT ALL! No, sirree!
