Vacation Santa Barbara: Part Two

Sunday Jewel and I slept late (as we were up 'till eleven playing Rummy and watching the Dog Show on Animal Planet), then checked out of the hotel and headed for State Street - the heart and soul of Santa Barbara! We had lunch at Rock's, where we had yummy drinks, excellent main courses and a fantastic dessert - banana spring rolls with mango sorbet! Heaven, I tell you - heaven!!!

After lunch we did some shopping. We popped into Banana Republic Women where I did my usual D&D (Dream & Drool) over all the super cute stuff they had that I'll never fit into. Ditto the truly adorable frilly pink stuff I saw in The Limited. Gah! It was so depressing! Also depressing was the severe indigestion I suffered from (probably from the sautéed red and green onions that came with my macadamia-crusted halibut, and which I ate even though I probably should've known better), though luckily a hearty dose of "the pink stuff" took care of it, and soon I was right as rain!

Next we hit Aveda, where I purchased some new hairspray (which I needed), a clay masque (which is also needed), Rosemary Mint shaving cream (not really needed, but fun), some Volumizing Hair Tonic, and two probably stupid purchases: a scented candle and perfume. I don't wear that much perfume, due to my allergies, but I liked the scent, so I decided to go for it, and although I have a ton of scented candles at home that I never burn because I'm afraid I'll burn the house down, I liked the scent of that, too.

Jewel was on the hunt for a new tea pot and tea cup and saucer, and after searching high and low, she finally found a darling tea pot at Sur La Table, along with a perfectly shaped tea cup and saucer, as well as a totally adorable creamer shaped like a kitty - it's paw was the spout! It was here that I made my one and only totally ridiculous and frivolous purchase of the weekend:

Yes, that is a pink leather pocket flask. They had a couple more barware pieces in the store, and so help me, God, I think I want the whole set!!
