December 30, 2005
I I participated in both Holidailies and Tidings of Danger and Mayhem, and managed to so far write 24 journal entries! More than I've written in a very long time. Twelve of those entries were Winter Count entries for Tidings, where one looks back at the year one month at a time; a rather interesting way of doing it. My WC entries were mostly links to entries I'd written during the month in question, but I'm planning on being a little more in depth with my monthly recaps if I do Tidings again next year. Actually, even if I don't participate, I might do a Winter Count of my own. It was different and fun. It felt good to write this past month, too, although I will be the first to admit that many of the entries lacked substance. It takes a lot of time for me to write a good journal entry - writing, rewriting, editing, spell-checking, etc. - and I don't have much time any more. I have lunch hour and a couple small breaks during the work day, but by the time I get home, I'm just too tired to spend any more time in front of a computer screen typing and reading. So, my entries are abbreviated and generic. I'll try to do better next year. Also during December I figured out why my feet hurt so dang bad, griped about the Cuesta Kids who ride the bus, participated in a unique Toys for Tots drive, did some memes, and got a new mattress. Up next on Self-Portrait: The Year in Review entry and New Year’s Resolutions! Stay tuned! for what it's worth ... |
