Quick Update

There’s been a lot of stuff going on with me lately. Not necessarily important stuff, but time-consuming stuff nevertheless.

  1. Last week I broke a tooth – one of the molars in the back – and had an emergency dental appointment Wednesday afternoon. My dentist examined the tooth, took a picture of it, and determined that I need a crown. Gah. I get to spend Valentine’s Day afternoon getting “crown prep” work done on my tooth, the following Thursday I have my regularly scheduled cleaning, then the Thursday after that (March 1st) I get my new porcelain crown put on. Just call me a Pretty Princess!
  2. That same evening, I fly out to Green Bay for this year’s WeetaCon (God please let me be able to eat pineapple fluff!!), followed by a hop, skip and jump to Ohio to visit my friend Jewel who has decided a road trip to Niagra Falls would be really, really fun. Which it will be, I’m sure.
  3. I’m exhausted just reading those two paragraphs!
  4. Next Saturday my friend DeeDee is coming down from Oregon for a visit. She, Suzie and I are meeting at Mother’s Tavern for some Big Mutha Nachos and margaritas. Hopefully I will still be able to eat nachos with whatever-it-is they need to do to my tooth to prep it for the crown.
  5. The trip to Niagra Falls inspired me to upgrade my camera, so I bought the new Canon Powershot SD900 Digital ELPH – the fancy-pants Coach edition, because I’m special and I deserve it. It actually just arrived a few minutes ago, and I’ve been squeeing over it’s deliciousness!
  6. I also ordered a new computer, because I’ve been annoyed by the slowness and lack of storage space of my old one for some time now. Not having enough free space to upload the Vista upgrade I’d purchased was the last straw, and I decided that in the long run it would be cheaper (and less stressful) to just get a new computer that’s faster, smaller, and already has Vista loaded on it.
  7. I think I’m losing weight. I haven’t stepped on the scale for months and months, but I’m noticing my tummy is not as tubby as it once was, and I’m not accidently biting down on the inside of my chubby cheeks when I eat. There’re definitely changes afoot.

That’s about all for now. I’m off to play with my new camera. Cheers!
