We had a beautiful day for Thanksgiving, and a very nice dinner and visit with the family. As stressful as they are, I really do enjoy these family gatherings around the table. We always use the “special” plates – the Johnson Brothers ‘Friendly Village’ china – which always brings up warm memories of family dinners past. I’ve eaten Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and birthday dinners off these plates my whole life. I love them probably more than I should love inanimate objects, and hope one day to have the set. (But not TOO soon, of course!)

As per tradition we had turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy and cresent rolls and yams and the little relish dish with sweet pickels and celery and cranberry sauce out-of-the-can and the molded jell-o with fruit cocktail suspended inside and the famous green bean casserole and, of course, pumpkin pie for dessert.

And it was good – not just the food which was delicious, but the company as well. It was all good.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
