The Garden Room – the name I’ve come up with for our den mainly because of the colours I’ve chosen – is coming together bit by bit! This weekend, mom and I painted the rest of the room a lighter green colour that is complimentary to the darker green (named Garden Path) we used in the cubby. The light green colour is called Cascading Water, and it’s really beautiful!

And, this is the greatest invention since the Moving Men!

Just look at this perfectly straight line (and NO TAPING!!):

easier than taping

After we saw how great the edger worked, mom and I wished we’d picked up the corner painter, too. Maybe next time. Anyway, we knocked out the painting in record time, and then decided to move the furniture around. We’ve decided to bring in the two large book cases from the living room, and put them in the cubby, so we had to move the craft armoir out. First we tried it against the wall next to the window, but found we couldn’t open the doors all the way, so we had to move it … back against the back wall where it started from a few weeks ago when we first started this project!

That meant I had to move my computer desk over to the other wall. I put it at an angle so the cords would reach the outlet.

As I said, the cubby will eventually house two large bookcases, but for now we’re just storing stuff in it.

And, finally we picked up some decorative trim to cover the line between the Garden Path and Cascading water paint colours.

I’m planning on lightly staining it a darker colour to match the book cases, and I think I will get more and put it around the top of the wall to cover up my poor taping job when we originaly painted the cubby. But that, along with moving more stuff, putting the art clips back up and all the other stuff we still have to do, are all jobs for another day.
